Wat Phou Temples in Champassak

Posted 1 year ago by posteye in response to avatar curl's question: What targets that could be of interest for tourists does Champassak hold? (give a different answer) .

Take the temples on the hill of Wat Phou, for example, built between 6th and 14tn centuries that epitomize great Khmer architecture. The best is the 9th century temple dedicated to Shiva, the Hindu god, reachable by climbing a spectacular number of stares towards the Linga Parvata mountain. Getting here, you're one more time rewarded by the panoramic view, stretching as far as Cambodia and Vietnam in clear days.
